Costume Jewelries can last many years if properly taken care of. We have been getting a lot of questions on taking care of your costume jewelries, so we decided to put these tips together. We hope you find them helpful.
* Avoid bringing your costume jewelry in contact with any form of harsh chemicals like perfume, lotion etc. You can wear your perfume first, let them dry up before putting your jewelry on. Avoid spraying perfume directly on them; hairsprays too can cause some damage - Let your costume jewelry be the last thing you put on before leaving home and the first thing you take off when you get back!
* Avoid touching, or letting others touch your jewelry often to avoid transferring the oil in your fingers unto these.
* Also avoid putting them in water, or bringing them in contact with water (no bathing or sleeping with them on)
* Ensure they are not all lumped (heaped) roughly into narrow containers. It is better to keep them flat in a spacious jewelry box and make sure the rhinestones are facing up.
* It's a good idea to keep them separated from each other to avoid scratching. You may individually wrap them with anti-tarnish paper (e.g tissue paper used with gift bags). Other storage choices are Ziplock bags, Metal drawers, Plastic boxes, Soft cloth
* Store them in a dry (moist-free), cool and dust-free environment. Avoid an overly heated environment.
* If you need to clean any part of it, use a soft jewelry cloth or dry cotton bud/ Q - tip to very gently wipe them.
* Don't concentrate on just one jewelry, alternate from time to time, so they all last long together ![]()
All these are to help protect your jewelry from getting tarnished or ruined in any way.
Hope these tips are helpful...and if we remember anything more, we'll add them later.
Thank you,
